Real people. Real places. Real community.
Why Sownhouse
Community is out there. Finding it shouldn't be this hard.
It's hard to know where to start
You moved, your routine changed, or your friends got busy. Good groups exist, but they're scattered across websites, apps, and group chats.
It's hard to walk in alone
Not knowing what to expect keeps a lot of people home. Sownhouse tells you who's hosting, what happens, and what it costs before you go.
Friendship takes more than once
We put recurring groups first, the weekly walk or the monthly supper, so you can come back and become a regular.
Sownhouse is not another social network. It's a bridge to real-world community, built for anyone who wants to arrive alone and leave knowing someone.

What is Sownhouse?
Sownhouse helps you find real, in-person community near you: shared meals, walking and running clubs, small groups, volunteer projects, and community nights. You find something nearby, save your seat, show up, and come back.
Is Sownhouse a church?
No. Sownhouse is a Christian-founded company, and our faith shapes how we work, but it is not a church and you don't need to be Christian to join. Most gatherings aren't religious. When one includes worship, prayer, or Bible teaching, it's clearly labeled so you can decide for yourself.
Read our valuesIs it free?
Yes, Sownhouse is free to join, and finding and joining community gatherings is free. An optional premium membership with special experiences and local perks is coming soon. Some gatherings, like a cooking class, may have their own cost, and that's always shown before you sign up.
What if I don't know anyone?
That's exactly who Sownhouse is for. Every gathering tells you who's hosting, what will happen, and what to expect, so you can walk in alone and feel ready. Hosts can see who's new and are encouraged to welcome first-timers personally.
Is it safe?
Every host is reviewed and approved by our team before they can publish anything. Everyone agrees to our Community Standards, members are adults 18 and older, private home addresses are only shared with confirmed guests, and you can report or hide any gathering or host from the app.

Churches, ministries, nonprofits, walking and running clubs, community organizers, hobby and creative groups, and local businesses that host. You don't need to be a church. Your gatherings simply need to fit our mission and standards.
Apply to hostWhat do hosts get?
Everything you need to bring people together in one place: a host page, gatherings that show up for people nearby, RSVPs and waitlists, reminders, check-in, updates to your guests, and simple numbers on who came and who came back.
Does it cost anything to host?
Applying is free, with no credit card needed, and hosting is free during our founding period. We'll share any plan and pricing with you in writing well before anything is charged. Volunteer-led community groups may host for free.
How do you use my information?
Only to run Sownhouse: confirming your signup, saving your seats, and reminding you about gatherings. We never sell your information. When you RSVP, the host sees your name and email so they can welcome you.
