Effective October 2026
Terms of Service.
These terms explain how Sownhouse works and what we ask of everyone who uses it. Sownhouse is operated by Sownhouse LLC, a limited liability company registered in the State of Arizona (“Sownhouse,” “we,” or “us”). By creating an account or using the Sownhouse app or website, you agree to these terms.
What Sownhouse is
Sownhouse helps people discover and join in-person gatherings hosted by churches, nonprofits, clubs, businesses, and other community organizations (“hosts”). Sownhouse is a discovery and registration platform. We do not run, supervise, or attend most gatherings, and hosts are responsible for the gatherings they publish.
Who can use Sownhouse
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must give accurate information and keep your account secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- One person per account. Hosts may add team members to manage their organization.
Community Standards
Everyone agrees to follow our Community Standards. In short: treat people with respect, describe gatherings honestly, keep people safe, and respect privacy.
Going to gatherings
- Gatherings take place in the real world, and you choose which ones to attend. Use your own judgment, meet in public places when you are unsure, and leave any gathering that makes you uncomfortable.
- When you RSVP, the host can see your name and email to run the gathering. If a gathering uses the host's own registration page, that host's terms apply to your registration.
- Please cancel your RSVP if you can't make it, so someone on the waitlist can take your seat.
- Any cost for a gathering is set by the host and paid to the host unless we clearly say otherwise.
For hosts
- Hosts must be approved by Sownhouse before publishing. We may approve, decline, or suspend hosts at our discretion.
- Hosts are responsible for their gatherings, venues, safety practices, and following applicable laws, and for the accuracy of everything they publish, including faith content, cost, and who the gathering is for.
- Hosts may use guest information only to run their gatherings, as described in our Community Standards.
- Hosts may upload photos and other content only if they have the rights to do so, and give Sownhouse permission to display that content in the app, on our website, and in promoting their gatherings.
- Host plans, prices, and free trial terms are shown to each host in the host dashboard before any payment details are requested. No host is charged without adding a payment method, and complimentary community hosts are not charged.
Sownhouse Plus
We may offer an optional paid membership in the future. If we do, its price, benefits, renewal, and cancellation terms will be shown before you subscribe. Regular community gatherings will remain free to join through Sownhouse.
Content and moderation
You can report a gathering, host, or member at any time. We may remove content or gatherings, or suspend or close accounts, that break these terms or our Community Standards, or that put people at risk.
Your account
You can delete your account at any time from the You tab in the app, or by emailing hello@sownhouse.com. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your information.
Disclaimers
Sownhouse is provided “as is.” We work to keep it accurate, safe, and available, but we can't guarantee that every listing is accurate, that every gathering will happen as described, or that the service will always be uninterrupted. We don't screen every member, and we are not responsible for the conduct of hosts or other attendees.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Sownhouse LLC and its members, managers, officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents are not liable for any loss, injury, illness, or damage arising from gatherings, from travel to or from them, or from interactions between members, guests, and hosts, and are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages of any kind. You attend gatherings at your own risk.
Waivers
Some hosts ask guests to agree to a waiver before saving a seat. Every Sownhouse waiver includes a release of Sownhouse LLC and its members, managers, officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents. We keep a copy of what you agreed to and when, and share it with the host.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
Changes
We may update these terms as Sownhouse grows. If we make important changes, we will let you know in the app or by email. Continuing to use Sownhouse means you accept the updated terms.
